Well, we all knew when they started looking at the consolidation of the vocationals that it was just a matter of time and here it is SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 4
Right now I see a couple parts of this resolution that make me think its not going to matter what the general public thinks or to even have input as to whether they want to lose local control (can you say hand picked choices!):
2. Two (2) members of the public, to be appointed by the Speaker of the House;
3. Two (2) members of the public, to be appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate;
4. Three (3) members of the public to be appointed by the Governor.
The Task Force members shall not include any employee of a public school district.
Also small section that for those districts currently looking for new administrators could be a problem as you try to explain limited contracts,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that public school districts should avoid entering into any new personnel contracts for staff or administrators, or transportation, that bind the existing districts past June 30, 2014.
This resolution would create a Task Force for the purpose of making recommendations on how best to decrease the numbers of public school districts to not more than five.
