Update from 9/22 board meeting

Just a couple of updates for the community from the Monday evening board meeting. First, congratulations to the following staff members: Sarah Hearn, Patricia Masten, Lyndie Hertrich, Bridget Amory, and Tommi Barrett. These folks have gone above and beyond through there publishing work, grant writing, and outstanding performance in the classroom. Keep it up, and pass along the knowledge to our younger staff. Another staff member who is using the scholarship she earned to do good work is Sylvia Henderson, Ross Principal. She has arranged to bring author, and activist, Jodee Blanco to do a workshop on Bullying for students, staff, and parents at both Banneker and LuLu Ross elementaries on October 8th.
Other general information would be that the board approved the School Attendance Zone Change that will make things easier for parents who rely on the largest two day cares in Milford. The change involves moving a 1 block area from the Lulu Ross zone to Banneker zone, thereby, allowing busing to continue as previously in this area to those providers. Finally, a survey is being sent out to district employees for feedback on the new superintendents search, and it will be sent out shortly to parents and community businesses for there input. The meeting closed for executive session @ 8pm.
