Well tonight Ms Kanter announced her retirement at the end of the school year. After 38 years she is going to end her career just as she was starting to make some real changes in the Milford School District. I for one will be looking to see the direction the community pushes the board as they look to hire her replacement before the next school year begins. Let’s hope we can keep moving forward for the children as that’s who it’s suppose to be about!

Half of the reason she was pressured out is BECASUE of the “real changes” she started to make… the other half of the reason is because she refured to listen to “the direction of the community”, and instead chose to steer the ship all by herself in the opposite direction. I’m glad to hear that someone on the board, like yourself, is anxious to finally start listening to the community for future endeavors… There will be increased involvement from the community from now on… and may I suggest if the Board truely wants commuity involvement, then there needs to develop an open exchange at the Board meetings… as opposed to the spectator sport it is now.
As to the direction of the ship, there were far too many captains giving directions behind her. Besides generally you start a journey with a map and a general direction which she was not given!
